Family Man
Greg and his wife, Dawn-Marie Davenport have seven lovely children — Jamie, Jenna, Braden, and two sets of twins Abigail and Adeline and Charles and Cyrus. The Davenport clan lives in the small rural town of Stevenson, WA (close to Portland, Oregon). Greg and his family are devoted to their Christian faith and strong family values.
Emergency Medicine PA
Greg has a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies with an emphasis in Wilderness and Emergency Medicine. Since 1993, he has been providing emergency care to the rural undeserved communities in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. As a rural PA, Greg has dealt with many outdoor related emergencies, to include life threatening traumatic and environmental injuries. Greg's medical education and outdoor expertise make him a well rounded wilderness expert.
Outdoor Educator
Greg has been teaching wilderness medicine and survival techniques since 1983. As a former USAF SERE specialist (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) he taught aircrew members how to survive in all seasonal and climatic conditions, during combat and non-combat scenarios. In addition to SERE, Greg spent several years teaching at the Combat Casualty Care Course (C4) under the department of defense. This program taught military medical providers how to establish forward medical centers and treat combat casualties. Greg left the military in 1991 and went on to create Greg Davenport, Inc. and Simply Survival, a hands on wilderness education program. Presently, he only provides trips for government and corporate organizations.
Lecturer and Motivational Speaker
Greg provides platform lectures on outdoor safety and survival to a myriad of wilderness organizations to include the International Sportsman's Expo, USCG Helicopter Rescue Swimmers, Search and Rescue Organizations, and Wilderness Volunteers. He is also a well known keynote and motivational speaker who uses his years of adventure — as the catalyst — when speaking on topics related to leadership, improvisation skills, and stress abatement. These insightful presentations are key to individual and organization transformation.
