Published Author: Greg has published six top-selling books on outdoor adventure and survival (Wilderness Survival, Wilderness Living, Cold Weather Survival, Coastal and Open Water Survival, Desert Survival, and Greg Davenport's Advanced Outdoor Navigation). His first book has sold over 45,000 copies and has been published in China and Indonesia (it went to second edition in April 2006).
 
Outdoor Educator: Greg has been teaching backpacking and wilderness survival techniques for over 20 years. Greg began his teaching career as a USAF SERE instructor (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) where he taught aircrew members how to survive in all seasonal and climatic conditions, during combat and non-combat scenarios. Greg left the military in 1991 and went on to create Simply Survival. Simply Survival is a hands on wilderness education program that uses Greg's unique three step approach to global survival.
 
Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant: Greg graduated from the University of Washington's Physician Assistant program in 1993. For the last 13 years he has been providing emergency care to the rural underserved communities in Washington State. As a rural PA, Greg has dealt with many outdoor related emergencies, to include life threatening traumatic and environmental injuries. Greg's medical education and outdoor expertise make him a well-rounded wilderness expert.
